EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT ENDS AUGUST 15!
Hello WRA Families!
Welcome to the 2025-26 season. The board has been working hard through the summer getting ready for the amazing season ahead. Early bird registration fees are good until August 15th. Make sure to register early! Information on teams and fees can be found here - WRA Registration Information. WRA's registration fees have risen due to the rise in costs of ice, RO and league fees. Our successful Winterfest tournament continues to help keep our fees reasonable. Please reach out to president@waterlooringette.com with any questions regarding fees.
A few notes for the coming season:
- Power skating - included in this year’s registration fee (as well as instructor fee). All WRA teams will be taking part in power skating. WRA's ice allotment has changed from the city, so please stay tuned for further info. For questions and more information, please contact Tracey at playerdevelopment@waterlooringette.com
- Dryland - WRA is again recommending that teams use Depth Training (Albert St. and Conestogo Rd, Waterloo). Costs and schedule information will be passed to the team’s head coach/manager. For questions and more information please contact Tracey at playerdevelopment@waterlooringette.com
- Treadmill-the board is recommending that teams use G & G Skate Training Centre (987 Guelph St., Kitchener). Teams should consider having players use the treadmill to work on stride, endurance and speed. Costs and schedule information will be passed to the team’s head coach/manager. - Spirit Wear - WRA will be using ALL Corporate Printing & Branding for team’s spirit wear this season. Ordering information will be sent to head coaches/managers.
- Volunteering - WRA needs your help. The board cannot do it alone! We will be looking to host our year-end event as well as raffles at Winterfest, sponsorships and vendors for our main fundraising event. WRA is requiring teams to volunteer 30 hours this season. Volunteers can be on a committee to plan and organize:
- Year-end event (what kind of event, source venues, plan theme)
- Winterfest sponsorships, vendors
- Winterfest 50/50 draw or
- Winterfest convening
- Social Media - WRA uses our social media channels to push out a lot of information. Please make sure you’re following us to make sure you stay up to date. We are Waterloo Ringette Association on Facebook and wraringette on Instagram. Most teams create profiles for their season. We love to see your team’s season progress and keep up with the happenings of all our teams. Please let us know where to find you so we can follow you and send us your pictures/videos of moments, medals, and team spirit that we may share on our social media channels. Information can be sent to Brooke at webmaster@waterlooringette.com As always, pictures and videos should not be taken/filmed in the changeroom. Always make sure permission has been granted to have pictures taken of your teammates. Please be respectful of those families who chose not to have images posted to the internet.
- Minor Officials - We are looking to add players or siblings to become a minor official. This is a paid position and if you are interested, contact minorofficals@waterlooringette.com. We will also continue to train one or two parents per team to be a minor official in case it is needed throughout the season. We would hate for a game to be cancelled because of availability of a scorekeeper.
